Hardwood Installation Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain :- Hardwood Floor Installation Basics

Hardwood Flooring has a rich cultural heritage dating back to the 15th century. This type of floor covering is popular for its beauty, durability, and traditional appeal. Hardwood Floor Installation involves the careful, minute measurement of the room where you plan to install Hardwood floors. This entails determining how much floor area you will need, what style and type of wood will best suit your room, what color of wood you want, how deep you would like the floor to be, and what quality of flooring you are looking for. The perfect floor can be produced in just a few hours from start to finish. Your Hardwood Floor Installation specialist will have the experience and know-how necessary to produce the floor of your dreams.

Quality installation

Hardwood Floor Installation does not include fastening down the floor to a subfloor, as some people mistakenly believe. The key to a quality installation is using the proper fasteners such as screws or nails for installing a hardwood floor only. If there are nails or screws loose or not securely fastened down they can quickly become dislodged during normal daily use. This can easily happen if your Hardwood Floor Installation is undertaken by someone lacking in the necessary expertise.

To ensure a proper installation, you will need to plan your Hardwood Floor installation correctly. There are three basic Hardwood Flooring installation techniques which include tapping, staining or painting. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages and should only be undertaken by professional installers with the appropriate training and experience.

Tapping :

Tapping involves using a hammer to tap the floor into place after it has been cleaned and cleared. The advantages of tapping include the ability to accurately mark the base molding locations without cutting or nailing into the floor. The disadvantage is that you may inadvertently damage or chip the old flooring. Tapping is a relatively easy technique, but it is important to prepare the floor to avoid any possible accidents. If your existing floor is not strong enough to take the weight of new flooring then you will need to buy strong underlay. Alternatively you can install the new floor directly over the existing base molding.

Staining :

Staining refers to either painting or applying a varnish coat over the Hardwood Flooring. This is an easy to do process and can often be done by professional installers. Painting Hardwood Flooring involves applying the color directly to the floors and wiping or vacuuming away the excess color when the room is empty. This technique is great for use with wide plank flooring or other more traditional wood floors. Many people find it to be easier to apply varnish than hardwood floor installation techniques as the staining only need to be performed once before the floors are ready to be installed.

The most effective Hardwood Installation method uses interlocking planks which are built up from either individual pieces or sections. This method of board construction has the longest life span and is also the most consistent. The least expensive method is the use of interlocking planks that consist of at least six evenly spaced sections of either plywood or particleboard covered in a thick veneer of wood glue.
