Venetian Blinds Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain :- The Different Styles of Venetian Blinds
Venetian Blinds has been around since the early 1900's. They are typically a two piece blind that has a valence at the top, which is where the slats come off to let light in. They are great for rooms with high ceilings because they allow you to use more space effectively by letting you control the amount of light that comes in your way. But do they work well in smaller rooms, like your kitchen windows?
What do you get with these blinds?
Venetian Blinds are definitely the classic old standby, having wide, flat slats, pull strings, and even twist-able wands to control how much light they allow into the room. All of these features are very nice, but what do you get with these blinds? While it's true that most Venetian Blinds will come standard in three-foot, black wood frames, that's about the limit of what you can expect to get for your money. Most Venetian Blinds also have standard metal horizontal slats that will go easily fitted to standard wood frames, or even aluminum or laminate depending on the look you are going for.
Aluminum and laminate are two of the cheapest materials
Aluminum and laminate are two of the cheapest materials you can buy for your Venetian Blinds but what about the other two options? Plastic blinds have come a long way in recent years, but some people still prefer wood for their window coverings. In addition, if you buy plastic blinds that are crafted well, they can be completely translucent, allowing nearly total light control even in total darkness. Faux wood Venetian Blinds, on the other hand, are made mostly of plastic and sometimes have a faux wood grain finish, but because plastic is an inexpensive, low-quality alternative, they may not last as long as, let's say, the genuine wood blinds.
The other major difference between the different types of Venetian Blinds is the window cords. Metal slats in traditional Venetian Blinds can be wound in opposite directions to make the cords tie-back. These cords are often called "cords" and are tied tightly to prevent light from leaking out. These days, plastic cords are used, though the cord itself can be made of anything to make it more aesthetically pleasing, such as rope, lace or even colorful thread. Whatever the material, the cord of Venetian window blinds is important because it provides the slimming effect and the tension for a more evenly distributed light.
There are two main styles of Venetian Blinds
The first is the vertical blinds, which use slats (called horizontal slats) that spread out from a central point in the middle of the window. These horizontal slats allow plenty of light to filter through and you won't feel like you're looking into a dark room. The second style of Venetian window treatment uses vertical blinds with no center hole; the slats are set vertically and pull to either side to provide the same amount of light filtration as the horizontal slats.
To give a more aesthetic look, some manufacturers have created a new type of Venetian blinds called roller blinds. The concept is basically the same as Venetian Blinds, just with the slats located on a woven fabric instead of metal rods. The difference is that instead of pulling to either side of the slats, the roller blinds simply rotate and the slats spin. They provide more control than their vertical cousins but don't have the same slimming effect. These blinds work best in small rooms, though fabric roller blinds work well in larger rooms as well.
